L'Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts et Métiers est une école d'ingénieurs ancienne et prestigieuse. Elle souhaite valoriser sa capacité à concilier tradition et innovation en proposant une exposition évolutive de prototypes, maquettes et autres éléments reflétant son savoir-faire technologique. Le showroom conçu doit à la fois permettre de montrer des innovations abouties, d'expliquer le processus ayant mené à leur réalisation, mais aussi présenter les quatre pôles de recherche de l'école et leurs spécificités. La surface allouée à ce projet est de 750m² et fait directement face à l'entrée de l'école. Le défi est de s'inscrire dans le bâtiment à l'architecture néo-classique très orthogonale et présente. Le projet se base sur la création d'une nouvelle trame centralisée, directrice de tout l'aménagement.

ENSAM is a very ancient and renowned engineering school, located in Paris. They want to enhance their capacity to conciliate tradition and innovation by propounding a scalable exhibition of prototypes, models and other productions which reflect her technological knowledge. The future showroom is supposed to show accomplished innovations and their conception processes as well, and also introduce the four existing research laboratories that the school runs, including their specificities. The awarded surface is 750 square-meters large and is located directly across from school entry. The challenge is to fit in the building, which Neo classical architecture is very orthogonal and visible. The project is based on the creation of a new centralized frame directing the whole fitting out.

The main hall hosts the most accomplished innovative objects that the school has produced. Its architecture is enhanced by the central void, right under the canopy.

Le hall central accueille les objets les plus aboutis et innovants que l'école a produits. L'architecture est mise en valeur par le vide central, juste sous la verrière.

The adjacent rooms are opened toward the hall in order to receive the creation processes, along a modular metallic wall that reminds the industrial aesthetic of the school labs.

Les salles adjacentes sont ouvertes sur le hall pour accueillir les processus de création, le long d'une paroi métallique modulable qui rappelle l'esthétique industrielle des halles de l'école.

The yellow pieces of furniture radiate from the main hall to the entry of 4 smaller rooms - each one is devoted to a specific research laboratory. They are introduced and highlighted by that signage device, and their aims are developed on virtual equipment in each room. Those ones are fit out like scientific labs.

Le mobilier jaune rayonne du hall principal vers 4 petites salles - chacune d'elles est consacrée à un pôle de recherche. Ceux-ci sont introduits et mis en valeur par cette bande signalétique, et leurs objectifs sont développés sur du matériel virtuel dans chaque salle. Ces salles sont aménagées comme des laboratoires scientifiques.

The radiant walls extend into the gardens. Those are federated to the showroom and link it to the adjacent meeting rooms, while creating a resting space which favorizes conversation.

Le mobilier rayonnant se prolonge dans les jardins. Ceux-ci sont fédérés au showroom et font le lien avec les salles de réunion voisines, tout en créant un espace de pause et de conversation.
